Citroen celebrates engine success at 191 open event

Citroen is celebrating the success of its PureTech Petrol engine by hosting a 191 open event in dealerships nationwide from November 1 to 10.

It will be giving customers the opportunity to test drive the award-winning range of refined and efficient PureTech petrol engines, which has won International Engine of the Year award in its class for four years in a row.

The company says all 191 orders placed during the open event will benefit from three years' free servicing, and take advantage of the low rate finance rates, scrappage and purchase contributions across the range.

The Irish market has seen a resurgence in demand for petrol vehicles in recent years with the petrol vehicles accounting for 39 per cent of sales to date in 2018, compared to 28 per cent of sales in 2016.

Speaking about the award-winning PureTech engines, Pat Ryan, managing director of Citroën Ireland, expects demand for the Citroen petrol engines to increase further in 2019, especially with the recent announcement of the one per cent VRT levy on diesel and the move to Euro 6.2 engines.

"With our award-winning PureTech engine, we are very well positioned to offer customers a very efficient and refined driving experience.”

Customers can choose from Citroen’s extensive range of passenger vehicles including the new C3 Aircross Compact SUV, which the French carmaker claims is the most spacious and versatile SUV in its class. It adds there will also be the multi-award-winning Grand C4 SpaceTourer available.

For those looking for something more compact, the C3 is good for zipping around town or perhaps the funky new C4 Cactus is more your style.

The company says there has never been a better time to test drive a winner. All Citroen passenger cars also come with five years unlimited mileage warranty, which does give extra peace of mind.
