Increase in buyers from UK in lead up to final auction of 2018

The Connacht Property Auction is gearing up for its final auction of 2018 which takes place on November 22 in The Menlo Park Hotel, Galway. The company has announced a significant increase in UK buyers in the market and they are now accounting for 20 per cent of enquiries to the company.

Company director Patrick Folan said: “While October and November have proven to be particularly busy months in recent years, we have found a further surge in enquiries coming from the UK in recent weeks. This is positive for the more scenic and coastal areas of Connacht as well as the larger towns and cities.”

Latest figures have shown that there has been a 10 per cent increase in property sales to buyers from the UK over the last year. This is a trend The Connacht Property Auction is expecting to continue for the remainder of this year and the early months of 2019. Mr Folan added: “Many of these enquiries are a direct result of Brexit. There are many Irish based in the UK now deciding to move home while there are also a high number of UK residents that are considering moving to Ireland. There are various reasons for the move from lifestyle, work, and retirement.”

The Connacht Property Auction is now encouraging property owners considering selling their property to contact the company to discuss options. Given the current high demand levels and the extensive marketing campaigns due to be undertaken in the coming months, the team are confident of getting strong interest in the properties on offer.
