THE SUMMER saw them support Ed Sheeran on his stadium tour of Ireland, but the autumn sees Beoga undertake their own Irish headline tour, including a show at the Róisín Dubh.
In their 15 year existence, Beoga (Gaeilge for ‘lively’ ) have released five critically acclaimed albums, been shortlisted for a Grammy, and performed with the Ulster Orchestra at the BBC Proms. They were described by The Wall Street Journal as "the most exciting new traditional band to emerge from Ireland this century".
Last year, they collaborated with Ed Sheeran on his massive (and sometimes controversial ) hit 'Galway Girl', and performed with him to 150,000 people at Glastonbury. Since signing with Spirit B-Unique Records, Beoga have been recording a new album, and have worked with Foy Vance and Johnny McDaid. Recent single, ‘We Don’t Have To Run’, featuring County Down singer-songwriter Ryan McMullan, is also on the album.
