Welcome back Reginald D Hunter

Brutally honest, meticulously thought out, challenging comedy

"A CLASS system is something you use to discriminate against someone who looks like you.” Never a truer word was spoken, and Reginald D Hunter is a comedian who speaks with authority and wit on issues of class and race.

Always brilliant, sometimes controversial, Hunter plays four mixed-bill shows at the Vodafone Comedy Carnival in October. Originally from Georgia, he has lived in the UK since the 1990s, and has become one of comedy best-known performers. His comedy and viewpoint can be brutally honest, but is always meticulously thought out, and is never afraid to face challenging issues head on.

He has appeared on Have I Got News For You, 8 Out Of !0 Cats Does Countdown, and Never Mind The Buzzcocks, and presented the highly acclaimed BBC documentary series, Reginald D Hunter’s Songs of the South, following his epic road trip from North Carolina to New Orleans through 150 years of American popular song.

Reginald D Hunter plays the Black Box Theatre on Thursday October 25 at 7pm (with Andrew Maxwell, Gina Yashere, Tom Rhodes, and Al Murray ); on Friday 26 in The Magic Mirrors Spiegeltent, Eyre Square at 9pm (with Terry Alderton, Gina Yashere, Kevin McGahern, and Johnny Candon ); on Saturday 27 at the Spiegeltent at 9pm (with Angela Barnes, Paul Currie, TanyaLee Davis, and Micky Barlett ); and at the Róisín Dubh on Sunday 28 at 7.30pm (with Phil Nichol, Tanyalee Davis, Tom Rhodes, Kevin McGahern ).
