The commencement of round four sees the first league matches of September and the Premier League table starting to take shape.
Supporters of Liverpool, Chelsea, and Spurs will have expected their 100 per cent starts but little Watford are throwing their weight around with the big boys with three wins from their first three outings. Champions Man City will be annoyed that they dropped points at newly promoted Wolves and the less said about Man United and Arsenal the better, as each side has registered only one unconvincing win.
For managers in the Advertiser Tribal League in association with St Anthony's and Claddagh Credit Union, the pressure is on to stay in touch with those at the top. Perhaps it is time to admit you got your selections wrong up until now, and the playing of the wildcard, a clean slate of transfers, is needed. But which players should you select?
Eden Hazard (Chelsea ) v Bournemouth
The Belgian maestro was on another planet to the other 21 players who were on the field at St James' Park last Sunday. Hazard jinked and jived and taunted the Newcastle defence as Chelsea looked to break down the black and white wall. Eventually it was Hazard who broke the deadlock on 76 minutes, converting from 12 yards out after Marcus Alonso was fouled in the box. On Saturday afternoon the Blues welcome Bournemouth to Stamford Bridge and although Eddie Howe's men have enjoyed their best start to a Premier League campaign with two wins and a draw, I can only see one result in west London and that is goals, goals, goals for Eden Hazard. Get him in your team.
Harry Kane (Spurs ) v Watford
The Spurs man was at it again at Old Trafford on Monday night as he opened the scoring in a famous 3-0 victory in Manchester for the north London club. On Sunday Kane and co make the short trip across to Hertfordshire to face in form Watford. This game is likely to be open and fast with plenty of chances so I am expecting goals and I believe England's top marksman will get his name on the scoresheet.
Roberto Pereyra (Watford ) v Spurs
It is likely that the Argentine would not have made many people's starting XI at the start of the season but the midfielder has hit the ground running with three goals in three games. His start to the new term sounds all the more impressive considering he managed only five goals in total for the whole of last season. On Sunday, Watford play Spurs at Vicarage Road and like I said above, I believe the match is going to be a cracker with lots of goal scoring opportunities. My tip is that Pereyra's good form will continue this Sunday.
