IS CHRIS Haze the hardest working man in Galway, and indeed Irish, music? Probably, and after three years in which he has enjoyed a string of hits, this month finally sees him playing a headline, hometown gig.
Galway singer-songwriter Chris Haze plays Monroe’s Backstage Bar on Saturday August 25 at 9pm. He first came to attention in 2013 when picked by Hot Press for it's Hot For 2014 list, as well as a nomination for the magazine's readers award for Most Promising Artist.
The following year he released his debut EP, Thoughts To Words, and followed this in 2015 with the single 'Let Us Be Heroes'. Another single, 'I’ll Run', was featured on 2FM, BBC Radio, and Radio X in the UK. It debuted at No 9 on the Irish Singer Songwriter chart on iTunes, eventually reaching No 3.
In 2017, Haze announced the signing of his international deal with Peer Music Publishing in Nashville. He then released the EP We Are One, when made No 1 on the Irish Singer-Songwriter Chart on iTunes & Google Play; No 2 on the Independent Irish album chart behind Adele; and No 4 on the Official Irish Album Charts. The single 'Say Goodbye' debuted at No 1 on the Irish Singer Songwriter Chart and at No 39 on the Official Irish Single Charts - the Galwayman's third Irish chart position in 12 months and his second No 1.
