Dylan Murphy - new single, Galway gig

Singer/guitarist to join Eoin Dolan for gig at Black Gate Cultural Centre

DYLAN MURPHY, the guitarist with Steven Sharpe's band The Broke Straight Boys, releases a new single next week, and joins forces with Galway singer-songwriter Eoin Dolan, for a gig.

The new single, 'Anxious Times', is a tough and raucous rockabilly number, with punk energy, and garage rock rawness, and has been inspired by the political turmoil, far right rise, post-truth phenomenon, and culture wars which have engulfed the world in recent years: "And the words we used before don’t mean the same things anymore, get on your knees and pray that two and two don’t equal four."

Dylan has released a number of fine solo recordings, but this may be his most assured to date. ‘Anxious Times’ will be included on Dylan's next EP, Make Plans, which will be out in September.

Eoin Dolan and Dylan Murphy play The Black Gate Cultural Centre, St Francis Street, on Sunday July 22 at 8pm. 'Anxious Times' is released on Monday July 23.
