Terry Alderton: The Musical - live in Galway

The life of a brilliant, unorthodox comedian, set to music at GIAF 18

THERE ARE few, if any comedians, quite like Terry Alderton, whose multi-voiced, multi-personality, shape shifting sets are as unforgettable as they are hilarious. Now the man has turned his life into a musical!

Terry Alderton - The Musical comes to the Róisín Dubh on Saturday July 28 at 8pm as part of the Galway International Arts Festival. It will cover his early career as a professional footballer, a BBC One Saturday night TV host, his Perrier award nomination, his time in the CIA, the fight over a parking space with Britain's Prince Charles, the loss of his imaginary friend Bogey, and a mental breakdown, all set to music.

Written by Terry, with music by Grammy nominee Owen Parker, who worked with the Pet Shop Boys, Robbie Williams, Girls Aloud, and Simple Minds, the show promises an insight into the mind of a brilliant comedian, that will be both unsettling and life-affirming. The New European, in a five star review, called it "a brilliant show that inhabits its own as yet undiscovered dimension of existence".

Terry has appeared on Eastenders, Live At The Apollo, Michael McIntyre's Comedy Road Show, and London’s Burning. The Times called him "a comedian of dizzying inventiveness".

Support is from David Tsonos. Tickets are €16/14 from the GIAF Box Office, Forster Street; www.giaf.ie; www.roisindubh.net; and OMG@Zhivago, Shop Street.
