Minor hurlers now face Kilkenny

The Galway minor hurlers face Kilkenny in Semple Stadium in the second round of their round robin quarter-finals this Sunday at noon.

Jeffrey Lynskey's team defeated Limerick last weekend by 1-20 to 0-12 in the first round, with Donal O' Shea hitting the only goal from full-forward.

The Salthill/Knocknacarra clubman ended the game with 1-5 (3f, 1’65 ) and he had good scoring support from Sylane's Keelan Creaven and Jason O’Donoghue (Gort ) with three points each.

Diarmuid Kilcommins (Annaghdown ), Dean Reilly (Pádraig Pearses ) and substitute Colm Cunningham (Moycullen ) all hit two points apiece.

The team was captained from centre-back by Castlegar's Séan Henry.
