The Whileaways - new single, Galway gigs

Acclaimed Galway trio release ‘Roll Down Your Window’/‘Spare Me From Your Heartache’

THE WHILEAWAYS, the acclaimed Galway Americana, folk, and roots trio, are set to release a new double A-sided single, ‘Roll Down Your Window’/‘Spare Me From Your Heartache’, and have announced a number of shows in Galway.

The new single is out on July 11. ‘Roll Down Your Window’ is a jaunty summer number, featuring the band’s trademark harmonies, while ‘Spare Me From The Heartache’ is more laid-back. It will be a taster for the band's forthcoming album, From What We’re Made, which is released on July 20.

The Whileaways - Noelie McDonnell (vocals, guitar ), Noriana Kennedy (vocals, banjo ), Nicola Joyce (vocals, baritone ukulele ) - are accomplished folk musicians in their own right with more than a dozen recordings to their collective credit. They joined forces in 2012, releasing their debut album the following year. Their second album, Saltwater Kisses (2016 ), enjoyed critical acclaim, being chosen as 'Album of the Week' by RTÉ Radio 1, and receiving four-star reviews from The Irish Times and The Irish Echo in America.

The trio have also announced County Galway shows over the coming months, with gigs at Campbell’s Tavern, Cloughanover (Monday July 23 ), Kinvara (Saturday September 15 ), and Clifden Arts Festival (Sunday September 16 ).
