CREATIVE WRITING classes in poetry and fiction will be given by the writers Kevin Higgins and Susan Millar DuMars in the Galway Arts Centre, Dominick Street, from May.
Kevin will give classes in poetry. Classes for complete beginners, and those who have been writing for some time, take place on Tuesdays (7pm to 8.30pm ), starting May 15, and Fridays (2pm to 3.30pm ), starting May 18. The Thursday classes (2pm to 4pm ), starting May 17, is for those who have participated in poetry workshops before or have had poems published.
Kevin is the author of the poetry collections, The Boy With No Face (2006 ), Time Gentlemen, Please (2008 ), Frightening New Furniture (2010 ), The Ghost In The Lobby (2014 ), and Song of Songs 2:0 – New & Selected Poems (2017 ).
Susan's classes will cover fiction or poetry. Classes take place on Mondays, 2.30pm to 4.30pm, starting May 14. She is the author of the poetry collections Big Pink Umbrella (2008 ), Dreams For Breakfast (2010 ), The God Thing (2013 ), and Bone Fire (2016 ), and the short story collection, Lights In The Distance (2010 ).
