Super Silly - top class Irish r'n'b tonight

Rising group of Irish Urban scene to play the Róisín Dubh

DO NOT be fooled by the name, there is nothing silly about Super Silly, the Dublin band who are fast become one of the key names in the emerging, fascinating, Irish urban music scene.

The quartet - Hudis, Grvz, SolBas, and Glory - make their debut visit to Galway when they play a free show at Strange Brew at the Róisín Dubh tonight at 11pm. They first met playing gospel in their local church. Last year they released three singles - 'Not Ready To Leave', 'Mile High Club' and a collaboration with producer Odd Mob on 'No Pressure', a track which gained support from Peter Tong and was a club chart hit in Australia.

Their most recent single, 'Here', released last month, was called "a modern R’n’B track with a soulful-pop melody" by Nialler9. It was premiered in Britain by Jamz Supernova on BBC Radio1xtra and in Ireland by RTÉ's Eoghan McDermott, and added to the Spotify New Music Friday UK playlist on the day of release. The band have played Forbidden Fruit, Electric Picnic and Indiependence, and Other Voices.
