Bernie O'Connell and the Board of Galway FC have been announced as Galway City Council Volunteers of the Year at the 11th Annual Mayor's Awards for Galway City on Tuesday night.

Second-level schools across county Mayo are being asked to nominate those unsung heroes whose motivation is simply to give of their time, energy and spirit to make a positive impact on their community or those around them.
