South Connacht Citizens Information Service (SCCIS), provides an independent, non-judgemental, and confidential information, advice/assistance and advocacy service to the public. In 2022, the service responded to over 56,000 queries regionally via phone, email and face-to-face consultations.

During Carers Week we celebrate the valuable contribution made by carers in our local communities, in particular the ways in which carers support older and dependent people to continue to live in the familiar surroundings of their own homes. Over recent years the way we work has changed dramatically. More of us now work remotely or have a hybrid mix of work, while others have now returned to the office. With all these changes, it is more important than ever for the public to get accurate and up-to-date information on their employment rights and entitlements. In response to these changes, South Connacht Citizens Information Service (SCCIS), in conjunction with National University of Ireland Galway School of Law, is delivering two on-line information events entitled Employment Rights Explained .

South Connacht Citizens Information Service resumes drop-in services

South Connacht Citizens Information Service is delighted to announce the resumption of drop-in services at its offices from November 1. Throughout the Covid19 pandemic, South Connacht Citizens Information Service has continued to delivery crucial information, advice and advocacy services to the public. However due to public health considerations, in-person services have been limited.

Supporting citizens in challenging times

Due to Covid-19 and Government restrictions, South Connacht Citizens Information Service has temporarily suspended drop-in services at your local Citizens Information Centre. Like many other organisations they are doing our best to provide services remotely at this time.
