Athlone Community Radio proudly presents the broadcasting of the documentary The Golden Voice of Athlone, about Count McCormack, the greatest Irish tenor in the world.

Five young local men are to attempt to write themselves into the record books, while raising some much needed funds for Midlands Simon and Athlone Community Radio. The five aim to break the current Guinness World Record for the length of time spent playing a video game continuously. The official record attempt will take place in Golden Island Shopping Centre, Athlone from Thursday February 17 until Saturday February 19.

Athlone Community Radio attended the MAMA Awards in the Abbey Theatre Dublin last Thursday, November 27, after being shortlisted in the Broadcast Media Category for Irena Cvetkovic’s programme ‘Across the Divide’.

Athlone Community Radio, currently broadcasting online, is delighted to announce that it will be back broadcasting live on air on 88.4FM from today, Friday May 22 until June 20 after being awarded a 30 day temporary licence from the Broadcasting Commission of Ireland.
