Bishop Michael Duignan will be installed as the new Bishop of Galway, Kilmacduagh and Apostolic Administrator of Kilfenora in a ceremony to be held at the Cathedral of Our Lady Assumed into Heaven and Saint Nicholas on Sunday. He will also continue to minister as Bishop of Clonfert.

Galway Cathedral’s Christmas Eve Mass will be broadcast live in Ireland and across Europe to millions this year. This year’s Mass which will begin exactly at 11pm, instead of the usual 10pm time and will go out live on RTE in Ireland and on various channels across Europe.

Following the success of their winter concert last January, St Muredach’s Cathedral choir are back with another evening of much loved classics on Saturday November 28 at 8pm in the Twin Trees Hotel. The programme again is an exciting mix of popular classical music, Italian opera, light jazz, Irish melodies, and favourite sacred classics, with a flavour of Christmas thrown in.
