The Rub is an old herbal remedy that was in Dorrie Killeen’s grandmother’s family for generations.
In 1890 young teacher Annie Murray, from Rathmoylan in Co Meath, took up a post in a South Roscommon school. She brought with her a recipe for a substance made from herbs, oils, and salts that had been used by her family for generations for pains, aches, and inflammation.
Dorrie’s grandmother used to say ‘For every illness a herb grows nearby’. Twenty years ago Dorrie found the recipe, and The Rub was reborn. Here are some testimonials from users of The Rub:
“I’m having a new lease of life thanks to your wonder bottle - The Rub. My back is almost perfect and the sciatica is almost completely gone from my back and leg” - Paddy, Newcastlewest
“I will be 86 years old next month, I was just able to walk using a stick. Now I get around easily with no stick... I walk up three flights of stairs thanks to your Rub” - Patricia, Galway
The Rub is available from McGorisks, Honey Pot, Cooneys, Cunninghams, and Concannons pharmacies in Athlone; Brodericks and Hollys Pharmacies, Ballinasloe; Whelehans Pharmacy and Nuts & Grains in Mullingar; McManus Pharmacy, Clara; and O’Briens Pharmacy, Roscommon.
