A fashion show in aid of Irish Autism Action and TEAM (Temporary Emergency Accommodation Mullingar ) will mark the opening of the Spirit of Mullingar charity festival on Thursday May 12 in the Greville Arms Hotel. The event will kick off with a Sex and the City cocktail reception from 7.30pm and will be followed by the main event just after 8pm, with no fewer than 20 local fashion outlets taking part.
The evening will be hosted by Midland 103’s Noel O’Farrell and his wife Martina, and they will also be joined by RTE’s Brian Ormond and his fiancée Pippa O’Connor who will also be modelling some of the outfits from Brown Thomas, along with feature model Sarah Morrisey. The fashion is being co-ordinated by Lisa Corrigan of Jolie Modelling agency, and all the models on the night will have hair design from Profile.
The fashion outlets taking part are Tom Birmingham’s menswear, Hugh Daniels menswear, The Wardrobe, The Dance Shop, Shaw’s, Unique Boutique, Tatters, The Fashion Shop, Cosmo Boutique, Chamarie, New to You, Heatons, LPD Boutique, Khan, Zaro, Natterjacks Toad, Cocoon, Swarbriggs, Central Shoe store and Margarelle. New sports outlet Tri and Run will also feature.
Also modelling on the night will be ladies from both charities, with male models including Westmeath GAA sports stars Dennis Glennon and Paul Greville, along with John Cochrane, manager of the Greville Arms Hotel. Irish Autism Action CEO Kevin Whelan and TEAM member Terry Toal have also promised to walk down the catwalk wearing outfits from the two gents’ fashion outlets.
There will be a prize for the best dressed on the night, and interval entertainment from local girls The Celtic Blondes. Following the fashion show there will be a live music performance. The fashion show promises to be an evening not to be missed.
Tickets were originally priced at €25, but thanks to main sponsor The Greville Arms Hotel, an early bird price of €20 per ticket is on offer.
