In the run-up to World Animal Week, which takes place from October 4-10, Pedigree and Whiskas, along with key Irish animal organisations, have issued results of a survey that show 64 per cent of pet owners find their relationships with their partners, friends, and family more stressful than the bond they enjoy with their pets.
The recent study offers some interesting insights into how much Irish people rely on their pets for exercise, company, and happiness; 80 per cent of people cited ‘health benefits’ as the greatest advantage of having a pet. Over half of pet owners get more exercise from walking their dog than other activities such as going to the gym, cycling, or playing team sports.
World Animal Week is a globally recognised event that unites the world in its celebration of animals and helps raise the standard of animal welfare and happiness worldwide. In the spirit of World Animal Week, Pedigree and Whiskas will donate a meal to SPCAs and welfare organisations nationwide for every one of their meals bought in the run-up to World Animal Week.
