For autumn/ winter 2010 Coast represents grown-up sophistication and a renewed confidence. The palette is a sumptuous mix of neutrals in contrasting textures, accented with crimson, kingfisher, deep purple, and inky blues.
The camel coat is a certainty for autumn/ winter, and Coast’s interpretation is short and simple. The clean lines of the silhouette are punctuated with a sharp black belt. Other looks see you cocooned in statement faux fur and feathers, or black antique lace.
Separates lend the collection a new versatility. The pieces can be worn in classic combinations, a pussy bow blouse teamed with wide legged trousers, or as feature styles mixed with more relaxed pieces. Texture is key with fabrics ranging from wools to leathers, silks to boucle, and chiffons to lace.
Coast celebrates the cocktail hour this season, with a number of head-turning interpretations. A luscious combination comes in the form of a gold silk jacquard little black dress with a sheer black neckline, while a simple halter style in delicate purple silk is trimmed with matt ostrich feathers. Floor sweeping maxis use swaths of silk and jersey and feature exquisite embellishment.
Finishing touches involve statement cuffs, oversized art deco inspired necklaces, large chandelier earrings, and beads and pearls encased in sheer fabrics.
