New jewellery range launched in Ballinahown

A new Irish range of jewellery was launched at the Celtic Roots Studio in Ballinahown village, Athlone this week.

Meso, the first of its kind in Ireland, is a new and contemporary range of jewellery designed by Helen Conneely of Celtic Roots in Ballinahown. For years, Helen has been working on sculptures and gifts within her studio but this is the first time she has created something very personal that can be worn.

Helen says: “To wear an ancient jewel, over 5,000 years old, which originates from the centre of the bog and Ireland (and the location of Mesolithic man and woman ) is capturing the essence of our culture and connects us with the landscape that we can have left behind.”

Meso fuses new with old, ancient bog wood over 5,600 years old with other materials such as freshwater pearls, leather, sterling silver, and onyx beads to create a unique modern look.

“The product range includes a number of collections reflecting the various materials used which are all designed with a vintage feel to tie in with the concept of Meso, while also reflecting trends in marketing and styling at present,” she added.

“We have worked hard to design and create a unique range of jewellery that will hopefully appeal to a wide target audience, both young and old. We have also priced the jewellery keenly and we are now just looking forward to seeing how customers respond to it.”

All of the Meso collections will be available to purchase online at www.meso.ie and in store at the Celtic Roots Studio in Ballinahown Craft Village. Meso will also be offering customers additional features to its jewellery line such as personalising jewellery pieces for loved ones as well as unique gift ideas.
