Fostering First Ireland seeking foster carers in the Midlands region

March 6 marks the start of Fostering Fortnight. Fostering fortnight takes place every year and the aim is to raise awareness for need for more foster carers in the MIdlands region. We are continuously recruiting and assessing new foster carers all around Ireland and would like to hear from you!

Fostering First Ireland are always looking for more foster carers to join the amazing community of carers. There are currently over 6,500 children in care in Ireland who need a safe loving family setting to thrive in. Could you make a difference that lasts a lifetime? So, what’s the first step?

The first step is to visit the Fostering First Ireland website on www.fosteringfirstireland.ie, make an initial enquiry and you will be offered an opportunity to attend an online information evenings. At this event you will meet one of our foster carers and find out all about the process.

After you have read over the information received, Fostering First Ireland will then arrange for a fostering advisor visit you in your home, where you will discuss what the assessment will entail. The process of becoming a foster parent takes five to six months and includes many different interviews and background checks, but don’t worry, Fostering First Ireland will be with you every step of the way through assessment and during your fostering journey.
