The probable highlight of the upcoming auction at Galway Auction Rooms in Kilcolgan is a Maurice C. Wilks painting of Connemara.
Maurice Wilks is a much sought after artist, born in Belfast in 1910. His paintings of Irish landscapes hang in many important collections worldwide. The Wilks painting is one of over 600 lots to be offered with Irish art, Persian rugs, jewellery, collectibles and furniture.
The auction also includes a large quantity of good quality hotel furniture from the Connemara Coast Hotel. One of the West of Ireland' leading hotels is currently undergoing a multi-million euro upgrade in advance of its reopening soon.
The auction is not available for public viewing but all items are photographed at www.irishcountryhome.com with bidding process going live on the auction day.
