Info day on keeping children safe

The Mayo Child Protection Committee will hold an information day, Keeping Children and Young People Safe, on Sunday June 7 in Breaffy House Hotel from 2pm to 5pm. This event will consist of Mayo local community and State services providing advice and information on a range of services, with the overriding theme of keeping our children and young people safe.

Family Easter party

A fun filled day for the family will take place in aid of Special Olympics on Easter Sunday from 2pm to 5.30pm in Breaffy House Resort. There will be lots of free Easter eggs, bunnies from Petworld, a bouncing castle, face painting, live music by Silver Circus, and an egg hunt. Admission is €5 per person or €20 per family (two adults and three children).

Westport Meet and Train

Man brandished gun in Belmullet hotel room

A Latvian man who brandished his gun at people who were gathered in his hotel room in the early hours of the morning in order to make them leave faced unauthorised possession of a firearm and section two assault charges on two men at Belmullet District Court on Wednesday.

Janis Circenis, 1 College Park, Belmullet, pleaded guilty to all charges which occurred in the Broadhaven Bay Hotel, Belmullet, on September 28 2008.
