Info day on keeping children safe

The Mayo Child Protection Committee will hold an information day, Keeping Children and Young People Safe, on Sunday June 7 in Breaffy House Hotel from 2pm to 5pm. This event will consist of Mayo local community and State services providing advice and information on a range of services, with the overriding theme of keeping our children and young people safe.

The event is aimed at anyone who has an interest in keeping children safe in Mayo. They can be parents, those who work with children, or those interested in the subject matter. Various groups will have stalls and information stands covering a variety of topics such as child protection, alcohol and drugs misuse, teen suicide and road safety. In addition it is planned to have three short presentations.

This is a free and not for profit event – there is no cost to participants and, consequently, it is not suitable for those selling goods and services. If your organisation would like to be involved, contact Sandra Claxton, HSE Children First information and advice officer, at 094 904 2679.
