All manner of ghastly ghouls came out in force on Halloween night for Finbar Hoban Presents... ‘I know what you did last Halloween’ – a spooky, kooky, and fun night with some great alternative music and some even more alternative costumes! The variety of costumes on show was entertainment enough in itself, some examples being; a Miss Incredible, an early eighties Madonna, a Mr and Mrs Satan Claus, and a Chewbacca. Prizes for best costume went to Adrian Ryan/Satan Claus, Aisling Holian/Miss Incredible, and Keith Mc Greal/Man with knife in back. There was also a ‘Monster Mash’, a ‘Thriller’ dance off. And that’s not to mention the best, and most important part, which is what the Bar Ritz gigs have now become renowned for the music.

Beautiful ballet at the Royal Theatre

The Royal Theatre is welcoming back Ballet Ireland and its performance of Cinderella. This captivating show is one for all the family. The tale starts after the ball and the most famous incident of a lost shoe in fictional history. The story continues on past the wedding scene to the perhaps not quite so 'happily ever after' Cinderella and Prince Charming. The ultimate hero and heroine duo struggle to overcome their differing backgrounds and Cinderella's humble beginnings as she settles in to being the princess. We have some hilarious scenes to open the ballet as Buttons and the Ugly Sisters prepare for the homecoming of the couple.

It’s Christmas party time again and The Royal Castlebar Theatre and Event Centre has organised the best party nights around. Its Christmas party season kicks off on Friday December 4 when Katherine Lynch dons one of her many outfits and delights us with her hilarious humour and sometimes controversial stories.

Saturday December 5 the Royal Theatre is teaming up with Mayo Roscommon Hospice in putting together the Ice Ball and party night. Champagne reception and five course evening meal will keep the energy up, as there is a fun packed night promised with auctions and raffles, celebrity guests, and Ice Queen competition, music will be by Safire with a Christmas disco to follow.
