The Rye, who are no strangers to Bar Ritz, once again make a very welcome return to Castlebar. The Rye are in the process of recording their new album, and the band have managed to squeeze in some festival dates this year which included The Life Festival and two appearances in The Rosin Dubh in Galway along with playing The Salty Dog Stage at the Electric Picnic this year. If you have had not had a chance to witness these guys perform live here is your chance to witness the best folk traditional group in the west coast of Ireland. If you want to check the bands high-spirited performance catch them tomorrow night as they will take to the stage at Bar Ritz as part of the GMIT aftermath graduation ball.

Seneca have just released their debut album Sweeter Than Bourbon and are busy touring the United States where they played 90 shows. Songs from their album will be used for the new movie Truth About Kerry starring Stana Katic who was last seen in Quantum of Solace, the film will include numerous tracks from their debut album. The band have being previously compared to the likes of Crowded House and Damien Rice. They cite Jeff Buckley, Tom Waits, Nick Drake, Bjork as their influences and put The Smashing Pumpkins well in the shade. This will also be a sort of homecoming for the band as lead singer Rob Hope is originally from Breaffy in Castlebar.

Also on the night Sons of Gingerbread make a very welcome return to Bar Ritz. Sons of Gingerbread have a huge variety of music that has influenced them over the years; their music consists of soulful blues and epic compositions brimming with the band’s distinctive sound that has endeared them to crowds wherever they have played. More recently the band split from being a five piece; with Adam and Tache leaving, the band is now a three piece. With a hectic winter schedule it plans to be as manic as ever for Sons of Gingerbread.
