The Royal Theatre is delighted to announce that Shane MacGowan and The Shane Gang will play the main stage at The Royal Theatre on Friday, August 5.
Shane has played in The Royal Theatre a number of times over the last few years with Sharon Shannon and her band, and Damien Dempsey but he will headline his own show this year.

Jools Holland is excitable by nature, but when he spots a new artist who has what he considers “it,” his enthusiasm goes off the scale. To go by his reaction to Imelda May, she has “it” in spades. “I’ve got to have you on the show,” he told her after seeing her play live – and so, a couple of months ago, she duly found herself on Later With Jools Holland, wowing an audience who included Jeff Beck, Elbow, and Roots Manuva. Beck, in fact, made a point of telling Holland that he was only there to see Imelda.

Westport Lions Club fund-raising show
The Westport Lions Club is hosting what promises to be the musical event of the year. On Friday May 27 some of Westport’s top musicians are playing in the Castlecourt Hotel from 9.30pm onwards. The tickets are €10 and every penny raised will go to the Westport Lions Club. The venue and all of the bands are being given free of charge. The musical line up is dazzling and includes traditional, folk, rock and classical music.
