Mayo Leisure Point celebrates 29 years in business this year and is managed by sisters Cora and Breda Mulroy from Castlebar. Over the last 29 years Mayo Leisure Point has established itself as one of the premier Family entertainment experiences, children’s birthday party venue and school tour destinations and music venue in Castlebar and Mayo. Mayo Leisure Point won the Mayo Business Award for Best Hospitality Business Award for 10 or more employees. With thousands of visitors visiting the entertainment complex every year Mayo Leisure Point is the No 1 indoor Destination in Mayo. It offers Tenpin Bowling, Mayo Movie World, Q-2000 Laser, Nokey’s Adventureland, Movie Bowl Diner, Video Games, Castle Leisure Club, Hogs Heaven Bar and Garbo’s Live Music and Party Venue. When all their indoor attractions were closed for most of 2021 due to Covid restrictions, they looked at being able to provide much needed safe outdoor entertainment and opened their 1st Drive In Movies from the carpark at Mayo Movie World.In June 2021 they then set up an area beside Mayo Leisure Point to provide outdoor dining and drinks providing a safe and comfortable environment with stretch tents. In late August and September, in conjunction with Garbo’s Venue, the first live music concerts in Mayo took place. With artist’s such as Paddy Casey, Jerry Fish, Jack Lukeman, Frank and Walters, Mayo Concert Orchestra, in total 12 concerts took place in a specially designed stage to facilitate up to 120 people in a fully seated outdoor venue. Cora says: "Like all indoor businesses the last two years have been very difficult and very challenging but we are very lucky to have such great staff and Managers who have played a huge part in the success of our business and continue to offer excellent customer service to everyone that visits’ the complex.
