Caroline Brosnihan is the owner of Connacht Nutrition and Dietetic Clinic. Established in 2014, the Clinic is located at the N5 Business Park, Castlebar. Caroline is a CORU registered Dietitian and member of INDI and HCPC, having qualified with a first class honours degree in Nutrition and Dietetics from Robert Gordon University Aberdeen.
Caroline provides nutrition consultations for healthy eating plans, weight loss, weight gain, heart health, irritable bowel disease, coeliac disease, hypertension, high cholesterol, diabetes, PCOS, early renal disease, gout, inflammatory bowel disease, diverticular disease, arthritis, osteoporosis, sports nutrition and fertility nutrition. The clinic also provides workplace wellness workshops and webinars and sports nutrition talks and webinars.
Caroline has extensive experience in sports nutrition. Having qualified with a Postgraduate in Sports Nutrition from St Mary’s University Twickenham, she was the Dietitian with Mayo GAA Senior team from 2014-2019, Mayo GAA hurlers and Mayo Camogie in 2021. Caroline specialises in nutrition for gut health and trained in providing the low FODMAP diet since 2013, and provides a tailored nutrition plan to help clients manage their symptoms.
Caroline also specialises in fertility nutrition, providing expert evidence-based advice for optimal fertility and reproductive health from preconception through to post partum.
She said: "Dietitians are regulated healthcare professionals that can help you look beyond the fads and gimmicks and provide you with evidence-based nutrition information.
