Sharon started her hairdressing career in 1997. She spent ten years building her clientele in Castlebar before establishing her own business – Sharon Ralph Hair Salon – in Kilkenny Cross in 2006. Since then, it has continued to grow from strength to strength and she celebrated her 15th anniversary in her own salon this January.
Sharon has just recently launched her brand new website at www.sharonralph.ie where you can purchase any of the great products she supplies, either for delivery or click and collect.
Also on her website you can get a free scalp consultation, where you can fill out a simple questionnaire and supply photographs to take the first steps in solving your problem scalp issues.
In addition to all colouring and cutting services, Sharon Ralph Hair Salon and Scalp Clinic was among the first to offer pre-bonded hair extensions with Great Lengths, with Sharon having first trained with Ceira Lambert in Dublin and then with Great Lengths Ireland. Sharon offers Great Lengths both pre-bonded and tape extensions in her salon.
During lockdown, Sharon was approached by the famous GoldFever hair extensions to carry their products - with Sharon saying that 'GoldFever are highly selective of the salons they let offer their products' and Sharon was delighted to be approached by such a reputable company and she now offers GoldFever pre-bonded and tape extensions to her clients.
Sharon Ralph Hair Salon is also a certified Hair and Scalp Clinic. It specialises in bespoke wigs and T-Parting’s, and, as Sharon explains, "the salon offers a solution for those suffering from minor hair loss issues such as thinning hair, partial balding and alopecia. The salon also provides a wig consultancy and supply service to those post-chemotherapy."
Sharon added: "The salon staff endeavour to address any anxiety or nervousness about how treatment will affect the client’s hair and image in a very responsible, professional and caring manner. Working in conjunction with the HSE, the salon provides an in-salon, after hours service. The unique location of the salon allows for total privacy and confidentiality while one-to-one home consultations can also be arranged and all consultations are available free of charge."
Sharon believes that constant up-skilling and training has played a pivotal role in her success. To date, she has trained nationally and internationally and has successfully completed two Masters Degrees.
In 2017, she was awarded a distinction in Chemical Colour with ALFAPARF Milano Ireland and in September 2019 she completed the Colour Specialist Masters with Kemon Ireland.
