Tests of Mayo broadband speeds ranks wireless provider Imagine as delivering faster speeds than many fibre providers

Ranking of broadband speeds in Mayo released by independent measurement expert, Ookla Speedtest “demonstrate the fundamental importance of wireless internet connectivity to counties like Mayo”, leading internet provider Imagine said recently. The Ookla Speedtest results 2016 measured the speed performance of all internet service providers (ISP) servicing the Irish market. The results were calculated by measuring and aggregating the performance of ISPs as reported by users, with the top five providers ranked and named.

2016 busiest ever year at Ireland West Airport as passenger numbers soar to over 730,000 for the first time

2016 has proven to be a record breaking year at Ireland West Airport with passenger numbers exceeding 730,000 for the first time in the airports 31 year history. In 2016, the annual number of passengers using the airport increased by 7% to 734,031, an increase of 48,563 passengers compared to 2015. The Airport now serves 23 International destinations and is served by three of Europes major International airlines, Aer Lingus, Flybe and Ryanair.

Enterprise Rent-A-Car, part of the world’s largest vehicle rental company, Enterprise Holdings, this week opened its newest Irish branch in Castlebar. The new outlet will operate from Casey Accident and Repair Centre, Turlough Road, Castlebar, primarily serving tourists who wish to rent a car and explore the town and surrounding areas of Mayo, as well as business people and locals who may require affordable transport from time to time without needing a full-time vehicle.

The company has also officially launched its new door-to-door tow truck service which will serve the entire Galway/Mayo area. MAyo dealers unveil fertiliser spreader offer

Mindful that fertiliser is one of the most expensive commodities a farmer must buy, and that much of it is lost in hedges and ditches when spread by machines that are overdue for replacement, two Mayo farm machinery dealers have announced details of a finance offer designed to help farmers trade up to a top end machine without putting pressure on tight budgets.

In conjunction with machinery distributor Farmhand, dealers Johnston Agri Services of Ballyhaunis and McHale Farm Machinery of Kilmaine have launched an offer available until mid-February 2017, that sees an Amazone ZAM 1201 model being marketed, complete with folding cover and lights, for an initial deposit of €775, the balance to be paid in nine half-yearly amounts of €775, inclusive of VAT.
