Customers in all of Aurivo’s 33 Homeland stores across the northwest will be offered a chance to support the ISPCC with an option to add a donation of €1 at the till for one week from Monday December 12 to Sunday December 19.
Last Christmas Day, Childline received 1,176 calls from children in distress. Every year, the incredible Childline volunteers give up their Christmas. They sacrifice their time with loved ones, so that they can be there for so many children who need help. Letting a child know that there is somebody who wants to listen, someone who cares, can make all the difference.
Children call Childline for a number of reasons on Christmas Day. Some are lonely and just need someone who will listen to them, Childline, and these children, need your help to continue answering calls.
Karen McGarty, communications and brand manager for Aurivo, stated: “Although many families around the country will be celebrating Christmas, some children will be alone, scared and sad on Christmas Day. This is so wrong but unfortunately a harsh reality. Aurivo are proud to support the ISPCC ChildLine with their continuing work, helping vulnerable children in Ireland who need someone to talk to. Donating to the ISPCC Childline allows us back the volunteers who will be there on Christmas Day to take these children’s calls, and help them feel less alone at Christmas. Aurivo are proud to be a part of this campaign making a real difference in the lives of those most vulnerable.”
If you cannot make it in to an Aurivo Homeland store or would like to donate more than one euro, you can log on to the ISPCC website here. Any donation can help make a real difference. As little as €10 will pay for 10 text conversations using theirTalk Text service while €300 will sponsor a child’s mentoring visits for one month.
