Deloitte launches search for 215 graduates

Deloitte, the leading business advisory firm, has announced that it has commenced its search for 215 graduate positions in its Irish business. The positions, which are for an initial three and a half year contract, will be available in the Dublin, Cork and Limerick offices, across all departments of the firm including audit, tax, consulting, corporate finance and enterprise risk services. Two hundred of the positions are for an autumn 2012 start, while the remainder will have an immediate start this year. The positions will be available to graduates from a range of different disciplines – including not only those with accountancy and business backgrounds, but also graduates with engineering, IT and legal backgrounds amongst others.

The Irish Council for Social Housing (ICSH) announced that 16 housing projects have been shortlisted for the prestigious Allianz Community Housing Awards 2011. Included in the shortlist are housing projects developed by Mayo Abbey Housing Association, Achill Sheltered Housing Association, and Cluid Housing Association in Ballina.

Some courses are light and enjoyable and encourage personal development while others are provided as a support to parents and families to help them cope with the ups and downs of family life. Still others provide support to those who are bereaved or for others who want to explore their faith in a deeper way. At a time when many people are under increased pressure this year there is a particular emphasis on helping people to relax and learn mindfulness which is a skill that can serve us all well, especially at times when we are under pressure.

SuperValu’s local retail partners in Mayo have confirmed that SuperValu will invest €90 million in delivering price savings to Irish shoppers, reducing the price of the average weekly SuperValu shopping basket from €132 to €102, a saving of €30. The investment will consist of a significant range of price cuts right across the store on the items shoppers buy every day, increased promotions, and a half price back to school offer as part of the retailer’s Spend Less campaign.

A second grant of €0.32 million by the BMW Regional Assembly under a European Regional Development Fund grant scheme for designated Gateways and Hub Towns has been paid towards the Castlebar town centre regeneration project, bringing the total paid to date to €0.65 million, which consists of the town centre regeneration and streetscape refurbishment along with the development of the river walk as an amenity corridor.

A quarter of all workers say they do “two weeks’ work in one” in the run up to their holidays according to a survey from IrishJobs.ie, Ireland’s number one recruitment website. Seventy one per cent of workers surveyed have taken or plan to take a holiday this year with a significant number, 19 per cent, not taking a holiday at all, and 10 per cent still undecided. However the good news is that while on holiday the vast majority of people mainly focus on unwinding and having fun (89 per cent) leaving a minority having to think about work.
