The Irish Council for Social Housing (ICSH ) announced that 16 housing projects have been shortlisted for the prestigious Allianz Community Housing Awards 2011. Included in the shortlist are housing projects developed by Mayo Abbey Housing Association, Achill Sheltered Housing Association, and Cluid Housing Association in Ballina.
The aim of the Community Housing Awards is to encourage, recognise, and reward excellence in the provision of social housing and showcase how innovative design and management can create a positive impact on the lives of tenants and the wider community.
This year more than 30 entries of an exceptionally high standard were received across eight categories.
The shortlisted finalists will be judged by an expert panel on which there are representatives from Sustainable Energy Authority Ireland, ICSH, Dublin Institute of Technology, and Allianz (sponsor of the awards ).
The category winners and overall winner will be announced and presented with their awards at a gala dinner held at the ICSH National Social Housing Conference due to be held in the Galway Bay Hotel, Salthill, on September 28.
