Mayo AC have announced the details of the eighth installment of the Vodafone Mayo AC 5K Summer Series which will get under way in just over a fortnights time in Foxford. The five race ‘no frills’ series is open to all local athletic clubs and fitness groups are very welcome. Get ready for the Doggy Dash 5k in aid of MADRA — Next Sunday week, on October 9, the first ever MADRA 5k will take place at Cappagh Park, Knocknacarra. The event is open to everyone with the aim of encouraging social running in a fun, friendly setting, welcoming both seasoned runners as well as beginners and walkers. The 5k route which takes you around the Cappagh Park playing fields and through parts of scenic Barna Woods is flat and fast so is perfect for first timers and is also a great PB opportunity for the more seasoned runner.
