Mayor of the City of Galway, Cllr Clodagh Higgins unveiled this year’s sponsors for Gradam 2023 at a press event hosted by Gaillimh le Gaeilge in the Galway Chamber, to formally open the nomination stage of the Gradam Sheosaimh Uí Ógartaigh competition.

Gradam Sheosaimh Uí Ógartaigh or as the people of Galway know it as “The Gradam”, is now open for nominations. Gaillimh le Gaeilge, the organisation that promotes the Irish language in the city with support from Galway City Council, Galway Chamber and other groups is calling on Galway businesses to sign up, get involved and embrace an Ghaeilge níos mó in 2022! The team is currently putting a schedule together and they would love to meet businesses and organisations in the city who are interested in using the Irish language to create a bilingual business or organisation.

Galway’s bilingual business award, Gradam Sheosaimh Uí Ógartaigh 2020, run by Gaillimh le Gaeilge, is now open for nominations. This award, which is the longest running award of its kind in Ireland, is organised by Gaillimh le Gaeilge, in partnership with t he Galway Advertiser and with support from TG4 and the Galway Chamber. It is named in honour of the late Seosamh Ó hÓgartaigh, founding member and company secretary of Gaillimh le Gaeilge.

Moltóirí Ghradam Sheosaimh Uí Ógartaigh 2019, who were selected by Bord Stiúrtha Ghaillimh le Gaeilge will today select the finalists for Gradam Sheosaimh Uí Ógartaigh 2019.

Tomorrow, Friday, February 22, is the closing date for nominations for Gradam Sheosaimh Uí Ógartaigh - Galway’s bilingual business award. Méara Chathair na Gaillimhe, Cllr. Pearce Flannery will officially launch Gradam Sheosaimh Uí Ógartaigh 2018 as well as announce all of the Gradam sponsors for the year ahead at a press event in the Eyre Square Centre on Monday the 29th of January 2018 @ 12 noon.
