Donegal’s favourite son, Daniel O’Donnell needs no introduction to audiences. Daniel’s success has spread far beyond his native shores and he is a major figure in the music scene in Europe, North America, and the UK. In fact, such has been his impact in Britain that in 2002 he was awarded an honorary MBE for his services to the music industry. However Daniel himself has declared that the award which he holds dearest to his heart is being named as Donegal Person of the Year in 1989.
