The Royal Theatre Castlebar has new owners after hotel management and property companies, Islandeady Properties and Lansdowne Frances, agreed to purchase the properties. The acquisition includes The Royal Theatre, The Ruby Room, Mayo Conference Centre, TF Hotel, Harlequin Hotel (4 star), multi storey car park, and The Royal Quarter Retail Area incorporating Boots Chemists and other various retail stores, The Mosaic and other car parks.

Islandeady Properties and Lansdowne Francs are to acquire The Royal Theatre, hotels, and The Royal Quarter retail area from Andrew O’Leary and Kieran Wallace, KPMG in a move announced today.

The latest survey in the Anti-Litter League by business group Irish Business Against Litter (IBAL) shows Ballina and Castlebar have both lost their cleaner than European norms status in this round, with both now classed as moderately littered. Of 42 towns and cities surveyed this summer, Ballina and Castlebar have dropped from fourth and fifth place respectively to 34th and 35th.
