Athlone Toastmasters have resumed the hosting of their fortnightly meetings with the number of members and guests now attending in-person and online steadily growing.

In what has been an unprecedented year to date, Athlone Toastmasters Club have maintained a prominent presence within the local landscape.

After celebrating successfully its 25th anniversary at the end of May, Athlone Toastmasters will be back for another year of fun and entertainment on Tuesday September 11 in the Prince of Wales Hotel, at 8.15pm.

Some 30 young girls from the Presentation Secondary School completed their Toastmasters Youth Programme, sponsored by the Kilkenny Toastmasters Club.

Athlone Toastmasters are looking forward to a bumper public speaking contest next Tuesday March 24 at 8pm in the Shamrock Lodge Hotel.  Six contestants shall battle it out to be crowned Club Public Speaking Champion 2009 and to have the honour of representing the club at the area final on Sunday April 5.
