Youths complete Toastmasters programme

Some 30 young girls from the Presentation Secondary School completed their Toastmasters Youth Programme, sponsored by the Kilkenny Toastmasters Club.

Becky Rhatigan and Eileen Walsh were president and secretary for the first four weeks and Emma Leahy and Emily Gallagher were president and secretary for the second four weeks.

Twenty young girls have registered for the second eight week course in the school. The Youth Leadership Programme was developed by Toastmasters International to help the young people of today become the leaders of tomorrow. The programme uses materials especially adapted for youth from the regular Toastmasters International public speaking programme. More than three million people have benefited from the adult Toastmasters program since it was introduced in 1924.
