Kilkenny triathlete Niamh Richardson claimed 3rd place in the Olympic distance TriGrandPrix which took place on Saturday. Over 800 athletes descended on the Marble city to compete in what was the biggest triathlon to take place in Ireland this month.

Up to 900 triathletes are expected to take part in the Kilkenny Triathlon, which takes place tomorrow (Saturday), based in the grounds of Kilkenny Castle.

Conditions were good for the second annual Kilmovee 10k last Saturday afternoon. Kilkenny City Harriers played host for the County Kilkenny short course cross-country races on Sunday. Thanks to Bretts Sawmills, Sion Road, who provided the field, an excellent course was marked out and the sun came out to provide a feeling of summer.
