Newman Institute gets ready to dance
The Newman Institute are embarking on a very popular fundraising event on Saturday, November 16 in Hotel Ballina. Sixteen budding dancers have volunteered to compete for the prestigious prize of winning champion of the dance floor competition. The couples have been involved in an intensive dance training campaign for months under the stewardship of choreographer and dance instructor Marie Brennan. The main sponsor for the event is Paddy Connolly 4x4, Killala Road, Ballina. Each dancer has also secured a sponsor for raising funds. Proceeds from all the fundraising organised by the Newman's Institute's fundraising committee will go towards establishing a student bursary as well as contributing towards the running costs of the Institute.
Mullingar 80s and 90s to be resurrected for charity at ‘Upstairs goes Retro’
A Mullingar nurse is hoping to fundraise in a nostalgic fashion next Friday August 16, when musician and DJ Declan O’Farrell turns back the clock at least 25 years at ‘Upstairs goes Retro’.
