Galway and Connacht champions Corofin will take the M6 motorway on Saturday morning to Tullamore to take on the Leinster and All-Ireland champions St Vincent’s in the eagerly anticipated All-Ireland football semi-final in O’Connor Park (2pm).

Kilkerrin/Clonberne were defeated by 3-11 to 2-12 in the Tesco Senior Ladies All-Ireland semi-final by Termon (Donegal) last weekend at their home pitch.

Five Galway teams, Corofin, Tuam Stars, Milltown, Kilkerrin Clonberne and Caherlistrane, will be aiming for All-Ireland honours at the 42nd FBD All-Ireland Senior Football Sevens at Kilmacud Crokes in Dublin on Saturday.

There is a massive amount of Gaelic football action in Galway this weekend.

Corofin lost the Kilmacud All-Ireland Sevens championship final last year to St Gall’s in a penalty shoot-out, and they also lost an All-Ireland senior club semi-final to the same opposition a few years ago after extra-time, in Parnell Park.

Ireland’s top young hurlers, camogie players, and handball competitors will be in Galway this weekend for the prestigious Feile na nGael u-14 tournament.

Last weekend saw winning performances from the green and red of both Garrycastle and St Brigid’s in their respective provincial campaigns. The Roscommon champions booked their place in this year’s provincial decider thanks to their hard fought win over a gutsy Glencar-Manorhamilton (Leitrim) side. Garrycastle too had to work hard to forage a win in Cusack Park against Louth’s Mattock Rangers.
