More medals for Dolphins
Claremorris hosted the two most recent A and B/C swimming galas of the season. The young swimmers representing Ballina Dolphins on the B/C Gala took home a number of medals. Joshua Fortune competed in the 100m backstroke and the 200m freestyle, winning a gold medal in the freestyle. Paul Lynott took an impressive seven seconds off in the 100m backstroke and five seconds off again in the 100m breaststroke.
Another great gala for Ballina Dolphins
The most recent swimming gala took place in Ballina where several Ballina Dolphins swimmers not only took part, but achieved some great times and took home several medals. Amy McGowan had three amazing swims achieving an A time in all three, the 100m freestyle, 50m butterfly and 100m IM. Alex Patten also competed in two swims improving on her times and getting an A time in the 100m freestyle. Heather McGowan had a successful day achieving A times in both the 100m freestyle and the 200m IM.
Ballina Dolphins success at Connacht Region B & C Swimming Gala
Ballina Dolphins Swimming Club hosted their annual Connacht B & C Gala, sponsored by Ballina Beverages at Ballina Swimming Pool recently. A large number of swimmers from Ballina Dolphins, Ballina, Sligo, Castlebar, Claremorris and Westport Swimming Clubs competed in the gala. Ballina Dolphins swimmers had great success in the featured swims – backcrawl, breaststroke and individual medley On the day seven A certificates were achieved by Ballina Dolphins swimmers; in the B category a total of three gold, three silver and one bronze were won and in the C category three gold, four silver and two bronze were won.
