More medals for Dolphins

Claremorris hosted the two most recent A and B/C swimming galas of the season. The young swimmers representing Ballina Dolphins on the B/C Gala took home a number of medals. Joshua Fortune competed in the 100m backstroke and the 200m freestyle, winning a gold medal in the freestyle. Paul Lynott took an impressive seven seconds off in the 100m backstroke and five seconds off again in the 100m breaststroke.

Paul Flynn took to the water in the 100m backstroke, and the 200m freestyle, taking home a gold medal for his swim in the latter.

Ella Tuffy took home a bronze medal for her achievement in the 100m breaststroke. Megan Foley won a bronze medal in the 100m backstroke.

In the A Gala there were five swimmers representing Ballina Dolphins Swimming Club. The only boy taking part on the day was Adam Frank. His first swim was the 200m individual medley, finishing in sixth place with a personal best time. He then took to the water in the 200m freestyle, finishing in fourth place after a powerful performance.

Lilla Frank also swam in the 200m individual medley, improving an impressive nine seconds, achieving a division two time. Her second swim was the 200m freestyle, where she achieved a personal best time, finishing fourth. Amy McGowan had two great swims as well, improving three seconds in the 200m individual medley, and cutting 11 seconds off in the 200m freestyle, finishing in sixth place, missing out on the division two time only by one second. Emily Ward swam two personal best times, improving three seconds in the 200m individual medley and nine seconds in the 200m freestyle. Heather McGowan competed in the 200m individual medley and the 200m freestyle as well, improving eight seconds in the later.
