One of Ireland’s finest alternative rock acts is coming to Castlebar this May.

In what will be one of the most anticipated gigs in Castlebar this year, up-and-coming singer songwriter David Keenan and his full band will be kicking off their nationwide tour when he comes to the Ruby Room at the Royal Theatre in Castlebar tomorrow night, December 7 - brought to you by Finbar Hoban Presents.

The wonderful Junior Brother has just announced a show upstairs at the Bridge Street venue in Castlebar on September 27th.

Laura Quirke (guitar, vocals) and Claire Kinsella (cello, vocals) - Lemoncello - who will play in Bridge St, Castlebar on Friday May 31, started performing together while studying music and languages in Maynooth University, Ireland. Harmonious vocal melodies simply accompanied by cello and guitar lend a sincere and honest rootsy sound, borrowing from a wide range of influences, traditional and alternative. The result is music described by Remy’s Music Blog as “soothing for the soul”.

Once again the evenings are beginning to close in and all forms of ghouls and ghosts begin to rise from beyond. Next Friday night, October 26, Finbar Hoban Presents will return (for one evening only) to present a night of live entertainment at the Halloween Ball, with local acts Algorithm, Mervin Heverin and Michelle O'Sullivan. The shenanigans will take place at the original Finbar Hoban Presents venue - Bar Ritz- (upstairs in Mulroys Bar, Main Street, Castlebar).

ASIWFA are one of Northern Ireland’s most breath-taking, compelling, and heart-stoppingly brilliant exports. With rumours of a new album on the horizon the band will play Garbo’s on December 29.

Elaine Mai will perform live at upstairs on Bridge Street as part of the Finbar Hoban Presents series on Friday, November 11. Since the release of her last EP in 2014, Mai has been expanding on her previous critically acclaimed live performances, experimenting with her live show, as well as her approach to song-writing and production.
