And So I Watch You From Afar (ASIWYFA ) have just announced a Christmas date at The Garbo’s Venue in Castlebar this December. ASIWFA are one of Northern Ireland’s most breath-taking, compelling, and heart-stoppingly brilliant exports. With rumours of a new album on the horizon the band will play Garbo’s on December 29.
The band’s incredible, passionate, live show ventures through joyous bubbling rhythmic anticipation, to specks and glitches of electronica, intertwined with what sounds like a thousand drum-kits chasing each other down the street in time. Add gloriously warm layers of cascading vocals, and distorted, mischievous guitars, and what you get is an overwhelming feeling of triumph, pleasure, euphoria; ASIWYFA live leaves you feeling like everything really is going to be all right.
Everything points to a massive year for the band, with everything to play for. ASIWYFA to their fans, don’t know how to take a break. From appearances at SXSW, Eurosonic, Electric Picnic, Novarock, Canadian Music Fest, Popkomm, Pukkelpop, Sonisphere, to tour dates in Europe, North America, Russia, and a support slot for rock supergroup Them Crooked Vultures, the instrumental band have been on the road playing music non-stop since the release of their fan-stirring debut self-titled album.
In between, the band were nominated for a Choice Music Prize for Irish Album Of The Year and XFM’s New Music Album Of The Year, released The Letters EP in February 2010 and a stop-gap tour single ‘Straight Through The Sun’ in November. Tickets for this show are now on sale and are available through Downtown Records, Hogs Heaven Bar and Tickets.ie For further information visit www.finbarhobanpresents.com
