Finbar Hoban Presents Ash live in Castlebar

One of Ireland’s finest alternative rock acts is coming to Castlebar this May.

Having successfully outlasted their self-described ‘guaranteed real teenagers’ tagline when they first burst into earshot in 1994, Ash have announced, following the release of Teenage Wildlife: 25 Years Of Ash - that they will be coming to Castlebar this Summer.

Their mini-album Trailer was a volley of intent with hits like "Jack Names The Planets", "Uncle Pat" and "Petrol" - recorded whilst still at school as was their debut album proper, 1977 which hit number one in the album charts they followed that up by almost imploding after their third release Nu-ClearSounds, which the the band expand their numbers with the addition of guitarist Charlotte Hatherley.

They returned to the number one spot with the universally acclaimed Free All Angels from which Tim Wheeler was awarded with an Ivor Novello award for song writing for Shining Light.

Whether the original trio or expanded four-piece with the multi-talented Hatherley, Ash have continually excelled both live and on record

Ash are set to Rock Castlebar when they come to The Ruby Room in the Royal Theatre Castlebar on May 28 where the band will be celebrating 25 years of hits and lots more!

Support on the night comes from The Wood Burning Savages and tickets are now on sale from Eventbrite. For further details go to www.finbarhobanpresents.com
