Loughrea received a jobs boost with the recent news that Lightnet, a broadband supplier to Galway and Clare is to create seven posts as part of a one million euro investment into its network.

Loughrea based broadband company Lightnet is investing €1 million to expand coverage and services in 2015. It is expected seven new jobs will be created by the company this year.

Galway-based company Lighthouse Networks has just announced the expansion and enhancement of its wireless broadband service in several rural areas of County Galway and County Clare. These include areas around Barna, Headford and Moycullen which have “line of sight” to Tonabrucky. Other areas which now enjoy enhanced coverage include Kinvara, Gort and Loughrea in County Galway, as well as Lahinch, Miltown Malbay and Spanish Point in County Clare.
